Heavy rains lash north India

Rains lashed parts of north India today keeping temperatures below normal at most places as monsoon activity picked up over the region. Heavy rains lashed the national capital which recorded a total of 4.1 mm rainfall. The maximum temperature was recorded at 32.8 degrees celsius and the minimum was 28.2 degrees celsius.

The heavy showers started after 1:30 pm and resulted in widespread water-logging. Monsoons hit the capital on Friday evening after missing the normal onset date of June 29. Last year, the monsoons reached the city on June 26.
