JPC unlikely to call A Raja to depose in 2G case

Just in: Former telecom minister and 2G key accused A Raja will not be called by the Joint Parliamentary Committee to depose in the case, at least for now. Atal Behari Vajpayee, George Fernandes and Manmohan Singh will not be called either.

Former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura is to be called in today to depose before the JPC, becoming the first 2G case accused to appear before the panel. The JPC had decided to summon Behura as a witness before it on April 11 and 18, but he had written to the panel seeking more time to prepare himself before appearing as a witness.
