'Hostage siege' at Paris school

An armed man is holding a parent hostage at a French school on the outskirts of Paris after releasing a group of children he had been holding, reports bbc.com. The parent had come to drop their child off at the school in Vitry-sur-Seine, which is being used as a leisure centre during the holidays, police said.Units of the elite police Raid unit are at the scene. French schools are on summer holidays, but are running summer activities.
