Whats behind Gurgaons power problems?

In northern India, where the mercury crossed 40 degrees Celsius '" 104 degrees Fahrenheit -- every day for the last month, Gurgaon, an outsourcing megacity that is home to more than 1.5 million people, is facing an acute power crisis. On Tuesday some irate residents took to the streets in protest, after power was out for 12 hours or more in some areas, crippling businesses, silencing fans and air conditioners and leaving many areas that rely on electric pumps without water.
