A chargesheet has been filed in a disproportionate assets case against a Jharkhand legislator who was formerly a state minister. Six other persons -- his wife, brother-in-law, two brothers, a nephew and an associate -- have also been charged with having abetted the offence.

A probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation has revealed that the MLA allegedly possessed disproportionate assets to the extent of Rs.16.82 core over and above his income.

The case was earlier investigated by the Jharkhand State Vigilance, but the Jharkhand high court, which was hearing a PIL into the case, transferred the investigation to the CBI which has now filed a chargesheet.
