More on those rumours of West Bengal finance minister Amit Mitra quitting his portfolio. Our correspondent in Delhi says that rumours are rife that Mitra is likely to quit the post as he is fed up with the 'no tax' policy of Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee.

Mitra has been upset for a while over the state of public finances. A Financial Express report says that West Bengal has not been able to do much to raise revenue and it has not even placed a budget this fiscal and Banerjee has resisted fresh taxation.
