Why shouldn't we arrest Essar, Loop for 2G, SC asks CBI

Just in: The Supreme Court seeks response from the CBI for not booking Telecom companies Essar, Loop and their promoters under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the 2G case. The Apex court also issues notices to CBI and ED on allegations that Law Ministry is influencing the probe in favour of Telecom companies.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court deferred till January 10 hearing on the pleas of Essar Teleholdings Ltd and Loop Telecom Ltd, facing charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy in 2G spectrum case, against their trial by the CBI court.
