Ramdev negligent, Cops used unnecessary force

Delivering the verdict, the Supreme Court today said that criminal cases should be filed against the Delhi police and officers responsible for ordering the crackdown on June 5 last year.

The SC told the police that using force was unnecessary and asked why was it key to remove Baba Ramdev and his followers from the ground. The SC also wanted to know why tear gas was used and whether there were enough exits.

The court held Ramdev negligent, which lead to the crackdown and said he should not have continued with the dharna and ordered his trust to pay 25% of all compensation.
