Saif Ali Khan gets bail in assault case

Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan got bail on Wednesday evening after he was arrested at his lawyer's chamber and was produced at the Colaba Police Station in South Mumbai on assault charges.   

Saif and his associates, who allegedly bashed Iqbal Sharma, a South African diplomat of Indian origin, and his father-in-law following a heated exchange, were charged under Section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.   

The brawl took place at the Wasabi restaurant in the iconic Taj Mahal Palace hotel in South Mumbai on Tuesday evening, where Saif was present with his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and other friends. Sharma was dining with his family in the next table at the restaurant.
