Rubbish! Maha CM won't resign over polls: Cong

The Maharashtra CM's pre-poll prophecy during the campaign trail that the Shiv Sena would become inconsequential after the results of Mumbai polls has become an embarassement of sorts for the party.

While Uddhav Thackeray did not comment on Chavan's statement, the party's MP in the Rajya Sabha Sanjay Raut said the Sena-BJP win was a slap in the face of the CM.

Meanwhile Sharad Pawar says that voters have maintained the status quo. The NCP emerged as the single largest party in the Pune civic polls today.
