Protests continue to rock Maldives
February 13, 2012  11:13
Hundreds of supporters of ousted Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed on Sunday gathered outside the Majlis (parliament) in Male to raise slogans against the current regime of Mohammed Waheed Hassan.

Earlier, nearly 400 protesters, along with 15 MPs of Nasheed's Maldivian Democratic Party, gathered outside the Majlis.

The protests began after Nasheed's forced resignation on Tuesday. Over 150 anti-riot police personnel armed with batons and pepper spray pushed the protesters back after over an hour of stand-off with them.
