President to meet governors on Valentine's Day

Our correspondent in Delhi reports: President Pratibha Patil has convened a conference of governors on February 14 in Rashtrapati Bhavan to discuss the state of affairs in the fields of agriculture, rural development and drinking water supply.

The President will also use the opportunity to bid farewell to the governors -- she is scheduled to demit office on July 24. Union Ministers Sharad Pawar, Jairam Ramesh, Kamal Nath and CP Joshi will also address the conference.
