Former Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Hossam Ghaly, who fled from Wednesday night's nightmarish Egyptian football riot, termed the scenes during the riots as 'sheer butchery'.
Ghaly is the captain of Al-Ahly, which was defeated during the match against Al-Masry. He accused rival team's supporters of provoking the supporters of his team.
"It was all-out aggression, a real fight. It was a nightmare. It was war. I have never known anything like it," he added.
