Cloud over Orissa Sahitya Akademy award

The Orissa high court has directed the state Sahitya Akademy not to present the award recently announced to Kalpana Kumari Devi for her novel Achinha Basabhumi. The HC, after admitting a PIL on the matter, issued notices yesterday asking the Akademy not present the award to the author without the leave of the court. The award was scheduled to be presented to the author on February 14.
