Sasikala's kin Ravanan to be grilled in Chennai in cheating case

Ravanan, an arrested relative of Sasikala, the estranged aide of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, was today taken to Chennai for interrogation in connection a cheating case, the police said. 

Ravanan, lodged in the Central Prison in Coimbatore since his arrest on January 27, was remanded to the custody of a team of Chennai police by a local court after it produced a transit warrant. 

He was arrested on charges of abduction for ransom, extortion and criminal conspiracy. Ravanan has been named as an accused in a Rs 1 crore cheating case by a Tirupur-based industrialist, who has filed a petition in a Chennai court, the police said.
