Alagiri's son Dayanidhi summoned in illegal mining case

Just in: The Madurai police have issued summons to Union minister MK Alagari's son Durai Dayanidhi in an illegal mining case. Durai, who is a partner in the firm, 'Olympus Granites', was among the nine leading quarry-owners facing charges of encroachment of public as well as private land and illegal mining. He has been charged under various sections of IPC, including 120 b (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating). The High Court on Monday, granted him and 14 other accused, anticipatory bail. It also quashed the non-bailable arrest warrant against Durai Dayanidhi, issued by the Melur court.
