Prohibitory orders at India Gate, media shunted out
December 24, 2012  09:07
After protests -- against the brutal gangrape of a girl -- turned violent at India Gate on Sunday, the government on Monday imposed prohibitory orders in the area.

All media personnel were removed from the vicinity of India Gate, Raisina Hill and Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Nine Metro stations in the area will also remain shut.

In view of the protests, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin at the PM's residence, not at Hyderabad Bhavan where such meetings usually take place.
