December 22, 2012  20:23

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, accompanied by I&B Minister Manish Tewari and Home Secretary R K Singh, is addressing the media at the moment.  He says that the government is extremely serious about the Delhi gangrape case and has also issued orders of suspension of the police personnel who were found lax in their approach in the case.

The government also announced formation of a judicial commission and declared a slew of measures like installation of GPS devices in every public transport vehicle. It will also be made mandatory for every public transport driver to carry valid ID cards.

However, there is no need for a special Parliament session now, Shinde added. No guilty will be spared, Shinde also said.
