Parshottam Rupala, the BJP's vice president at the national level spoke to Rediff.com's Prasanna D Zore. He said that CM Narendra Modi will decide who will head Gujarat if he decides to become the party's prime ministerial candidate.

"Maintaining law and order, peace and an environment conducive for economic growth of six crore Gujaratis will be the chief priorities of the next BJP government. Not just six crore Gujaratis but all of India want to see him as the PM," said Rupala.

He said that the mandate in 2012 belongs to just one man and his 12 year rule has convinced Gujarati voters that only Modi has the capability to work for their progress without any discrimination. Full interview on rediff.com shortly.

While on discrimination, this is what CNN IBN's Sagarika Ghose tweets: BJP wins 8/12 Muslim constituencies in Gujarat. A new narrative?
