Modi seeks mummy's blessings after emphatic win

Dressed in a striped kurta the BJP's most likely candidate for the post of prime minister in the 2014 polls and Gujarat's chief minister visits his mother to take her blessings after the party's and his thunderous victory in the polls. Modi defeated Congress candidate Shweta Bhatt by 1,20,470 votes. Bhatt, the wife of suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, got a bare 34,097 votes. Modi, 62, has ruled Gujarat since October 2001 when he replaced incumbent chief minister Keshubhai Patel. Patel went on to form the Gujarat Parivartan Party. He won from the Visavadar constituency with over 42000 votes against the  BJP's Bhalala Kanubhai Mepabhai.  #Live-gujarat-results
