Hundreds stage candle-light vigil at India Gate

Hundreds of people, including students, members of civil society groups and lawmakers, gathered at the India Gate on Wednesday evening to stage a candlelight vigil for the 23-year-old physiotherapy student who was gang-raped in a moving private bus on Sunday night.

Similar protests were staged in several other cities across the country as people reacted in anger to the horrific crime that has left the girl in a critical state in Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.
