Mumbai cops discuss steps to curb crimes against women
December 19, 2012  21:27
As crime against women refuses to abate in the metropolis, the Mumbai police has initiated various measures, including instructions to senior cops to personally look into such cases, even as it plans to increase complaint boxes and number of female constables across police stations to help the victims.

The measures by the city police assume significance in the wake of the gang-rape in Delhi that has shaken the country and the Parliament.

In a meeting headed by Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh, clear directives were issued that any crime against women should not be taken flippantly.
