Jaya breaks down in Parl: Sexual assault is murder
December 18, 2012  13:13
Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan is back with the rest of what she has to say which is that she is "terribly disturbed, anguised and worried."

A visibly moved Jaya Bachchan, almost breaking down says, "The mental torture for the victim is terrible," she cries. "It's a shame. Where is the protection of women? We should think about it very seriously. I personally feel very ashamed [her voice breaks] that I'm sitting in this house and doing nothing about it. I'm ashamed at the answers placed in the house on the issue.
"Sexual assault should be treated on par with murder (section 302). This is a good time for us to make it an example and show the country that we mean business," she says. Probably the most emotional speaker in Parliament today.

The consensus so far among all MPs across party lines is for death penalty to rapists. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also calls for the death penalty.
