Delhi rape: Enraged Jaya threatens protest outside Parl
December 18, 2012  12:47
SP leader Jaya Bachchan speaking in the Rajya Sabha on the dichotomy of a woman being raped in a country where she is also worshiped. "The way we are discussing this topic (Delhi gang-rape) should have been done earlier," says Jaya Bachchan.
She then attempts to read out statistics on rape from the NCW, but the chair asks her to stop as other MPs have to speak as well. An enraged Jaya admonishes the chair saying every time women's issues are raised in Parliament, it is not allowed. "There is no time. We can discuss this later." says the chair. "For a subject like this there is always time. I will protest outside Parliament,"  says Jaya, but gives in.

BSP leader Mayawati says the Delhi rape issue was serious and strict punishment should be mandatory.
