PM, SP leaders meet, make truce on quota bill
December 13, 2012  22:37
It was at a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh and Ram Gopal Yadav on Thursday morning when a truce was called on the quota bill.

A senior official at the Prime Minister's Office played a crucial role in this truce.

It is learnt that even if the Rajya Sabha passes the quota bill, it will not come up in the Lok Sabha by December 20, therefore a delay is bound to take place.

The Yadav brothers met the PM immediately after the Supreme Court pronounced its verdict giving partial relief to them in the disproportionate assets case that has been hanging over the family for a long time.
