CBI to file report to SC not to government

The SC has also directed the CBI to file a status report in the DA case before it and not to the government. The ruling is expected to create problems for Mulayam's relationship with the Centre. The SC also ruled that the CBI is independent from the government and can continue with the probe as per the law.
