Cong to issue statement on Rahul today

In a signal indicating that Rahul Gandhi is the prime ministerial candidate of the Congress party in all but name, Congress spokesperson PC Chacko declared that Rahul would lead the UPA's campaign in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and take up an 'important responsibility' in the party very soon. Chacko's statement echoed in Central Hall today as senior Congress leaders quipped that the spokesperson of the AICC had exceeded his brief. It is believed he will correct himself during a media interaction today.
