Guj riots: SC bench refuses to go into Zakia Jafri's plea

A Supreme Court bench today said it cannot go into the issue of supplying Special Investigation Team documents relating to the Gulburg Housing Society riot case in Ahmedabad in 2002 to the widow of slain Congress leader Ehsan Jafri. A bench of justices D K Jain and Madan B Lokur refused to examine the issue on the ground that the previous order concerning it was passed by a larger bench. The bench said the matter has to be referred to a larger bench of three judges which on September 12, 2011 had passed the order relating to supply of documents to Jafri's widow, Zakia Jafri.
