Azad Maidan riot: Amar Jawan vandal gets bail

A sessions court today granted bail to two accused in custody for the August 11 Azad Maidan violence, including Shahbad Abdul Kadir Shaikh who allegedly damaged the Amar Jawan memorial.

The other accused granted relief today was identified as Niyaz. Police had on November 9 filed a 3,384-page chargesheet in a local court against 58 accused in connection with the violence in which two persons died and 92 injured when a rally at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai, being held to protest alleged atrocities against Muslims in Assam and Myanmar, turned violent.
