Athletics Fed denies suspension by sports ministry

The Athletics Federation of India has denied that the sports ministry has derecognised it. The federation president Adille Sumariwalla speaking to CNN IBN says there is no reason for the government to derecognise it as elections were held as per the IOC guidelines. "Sportsman run AFI, we have implemented age and tenure guidelines, there is no reason for us to be derecognised," he says.
