Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav said that the party will act against MP Upendra Kushwaha for voting in favour of the UPA Government on the issue of allowing FDI in multi-brand retail in the Rajya Sabha.Yadav's stern warning came even as a recounting of votes on FDI was ordered by Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammad Hamid Ansari after the government demanded it, as the number of votes appeared more than the actual strength of the House.

Eventually, it was declared that the UPA Government had got the support of 123 MPs, while the opposition secured the support of 109 MPs.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rajiv Shukla on Friday said that it was a myth to say that the UPA Government was in a minority in the Rajya Sabha, and added that the government would continue to try to push other bills by talking to opposition leaders.
