Modi NOT selected as PM candidate, clarifies BJP

Days after senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj endorsed Narendra Modi for the prime minister's post, the party has course-corrected, emphasising that the Gujarat CM has not been selected for the top job.

Appearing on NDTV's Left, Right and Centre, former BJP president Venkaiah Naidu said that Modi is undoubtedly a capable leader but is being projected as chief minister, not prime minister. Naidu also asserted that other members of the alliance will be consulted about the prime ministerial nominee.
