BJP objects to clubbing FEMA and FDI debate
December 04, 2012  14:13
The BJP had said that it was against rushing through FDI-related FEMA notification in Parliament along with the main debate on the issue. The BJP wants the FEMA notification to be placed on the floor of the House for 30 days to enable the members to see it, consider, think and submit modifications and disapproval amendments. "It cannot be rushed through alongwith the main debate on the FDI issue. We oppose it and we will approach the Chair in this regard," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said after a Parliamentary Party meeting here. The FEMA rules are key for operalitionalising the police decision to open FDI in multi-brand retail.

This is what Yashwant Sinha brought up as Lok Sabha convened at 2 pm.
