Amsterdam hijacking is miscommunication: Airline

According to Spain's Veuling airline company, there was NO hijacking and chalked the incident up to a "miscommunication" between the pilot and the control tower

"The plane approached the airport in an unusual way. This led to a miscommunication between the pilot and the control-tower", a Vueling spokeswoman tells Reuters.Initial press reports from Holland told of a feared hijacking, including the possibility of hostages, according to The Associated Press.

Those fears prompted Dutch police to swarm the plane after it arrived to Amsterdam from the Spanish city of Malaga, according to The Associated Press.
