Mamata to meet PM to discuss Bengal debt

Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today. On the anvil will be the restructuring of over Rs 2 lakh crore debt that Bengal owes to the Centre. Sources said that the Prime Minister and President Pranab Mukherjee had met to discuss a package for West Bengal and the latter had expressed his desire to support the state in repayment of loans.
