Airfare may go up by 20 percent from September
August 23, 2012  10:23
DNA reports: Despite the sky high airfares all through the off season, they are expected to climb even further next month with the inflow of foreign tourists, who start flying into the country during their winter vacations. The airfares are expected to rise by 10 to 20 per cent.

The high airfare situation was not corrected all through the off season due to lack of flights, created by the two month-long Air India pilots strike and a nearly bankrupt Kingfisher, during high demand. Usually, airfares in India drop during the monsoon as it is considered an off season.
