The now-forgotten presidential candidate PA Sangma has moved the Supreme Court against the election of Pranab Mukherjee as President. Sangma had sought the cancellation of nomination of the UPA candidate under the Office of Profit rules on the ground that he is Chairman of the Indian Statistical Institute. Indian Statistical Institute, however, stated that Pranab Mukherjee resigned from his post on June 20, before the nomination papers were filed.

There's something to be said for accepting defeat gracefully as against going kicking and screaming.
