Geetika Sharma suicide: Gopal Goyal Kanda arrested

After being on the run for 11 days, former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda was arrested by the Delhi police early on Saturday morning. Kanda was arrested outside the Ashok Vihar police station where he had come to surrender before the police.

Accused of abetment of suicide, Kanda had remained elusive ever since Geetika Sharma was found hanging in her flat in north west Delhi on August 5. Sharma, a former air hostess with Kanda's now defunct MDLR airline, had alleged in her suicide note that she was ending her life due to harassment by Kanda and MDLR official Aruna Chaddha.

Both Kanda and Chaddha had denied the allegations.
