Mamata's 'Maoist' farmer denied bail

Shiladitya Chowdhury, the farmer accused of being a Maoist by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has been denied bail. The farmer was arrested and sent to 14 days' judicial custody on Saturday. He was arrested on charges of assaulting government servants and obstructing their work. Shiladitya had asked the chief minister not to make promises to the people of Jangalmahal which she would not keep.
