US jabs China, Russia after Annan departure

AFP: The United States on Thursday blamed theresignation of UN peace envoy Kofi Annan on the refusal of Russia and China to back resolutions targetting SyrianPresident Bashar al-Assad.

White House spokesman Jay Carney, speaking aboard AirForce One, said that Annan's departure also underscored therefusal of the Assad regime to halt murderous attacks againstits own people.
