Expert committe for identity verification for SIM cards

The Supreme Court today set up an expert committee to look into the issue ofthe verification of identity before the sale of mobile SIM card. The committee will recommend the procedure to be adopted by telecom companies before issuing SIM cards. The committee comprising officials of DoT and TRAI will give its recommendations to the government within three months.
