Beep! Beep! Here comes the Indian Vespa

On the Wall Street Journal. Scoot over Bajaj, here comes the Vespa. With Piaggio & C. S.p.A. re-entering the Indian market, we'll soon see the iconic Italian two-wheeler cruising on Indian roads.

But it won't be identical to Vespas in Rome: Piaggio has developed an India-specific model. When it was still work in progress, Roberto Colaninno, the company's chairman and chief executive, informally dubbed it the "Indian Vespa.'
