Bangaru Laxman convicted for taking bribe

Former BJP president Bangaru Laxman on Friday was found guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act by a Delhi court.

He was found guilty in connection with the 2001 Tehelka sting operation case, during which he was seen taking a bribe of Rs one crore on camera by a reporter posing as a dealer.

He will be sentenced on Saturday.
