Italy signs Rs 1-cr deal with fishermen's families

The Italian government today signed a Rs 1 crore deal with the families of the two Indian fishermen killed by Italian marines on February 15. In return, the fishermen's families have withdrawn their pleas against the crew of the Enrica Lexie. The Italian government representatives and victims' families drafted an agreement and presented it before the Kerala High Court on the 20th. Italy's Defence Secretary had also met with the families and the shipping company to plan an out-of-court settlement.
