April 04, 2012  17:43

The Tatra truck deal came under scrutiny after General VK Singh claimed that he was offered a Rs 14 crore bribe to clear it. The Vectra Group holds a majority stake in Czech-based Tatra which makes trucks for the armed forces.

Tatra chief Ravi Rishi, named as an accused in the CBI's FIR in alleged irregularities in purchase of Tatra trucks for the Army, has been questioned four times so far by the CBI. Rishi has termed the allegations against him as unfortunate, saying the trucks were sold through public sector undertaking Bharat Earth Movers Limited.
