Indian Express under fire for overplaying Army exercises

The Indian Express says its front-page story today says nothing more than Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's government was worried in January by the movement of a mechanized army unit and paratroopers toward New Delhi because it had not been informed.
But the paper's decision to splash the story over its entire front page with the editor-in-chief's byline and words like "spooked' and "alarm bells' in the headline is likely to impart the impression on readers that this was much more than a regular breakdown in communication.
