Rs 27.94-cr payout for Punjab militancy victims

Just in: The NHRC recommends Rs 27.94 crore compensation to familiesof victims of Punjab mass cremation case during militancy days.

The National Human Rights Commission ordered the monetary relief for the next of kin of persons who the Punjab Government has admitted were in police custody prior to their deaths. Their bodies were allegedly cremated illegally by the security forces in Punjab.
