Adarsh: Ex-BMC commissioner Jairaj Pathak arrested

Update on the Adarsh case:

Senior IAS officer Jairaj Phatak, who was also BMC commissioner, has been arrested in the Adarsh Housing scam. He is being investigated by the CBI just now.

As municipal commissioner in 2010, Phatak is alleged to have allowed the height of the building in upmarket Colaba to be raised beyond 100 metres without the approval of the High-Rise Committee of the municipal body. His son also received a flat in the Adarsh Society building. Apart from Pathak, Retired Information Commissioner Ramanand Tiwari who was questioned along with Pathak by the CBI, has been arrested.
