Hockey India can't afford more prize money: Gen se

Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal announces Rs 25 lakh to the victorious Indian hockey team for winning Asia Champions Trophy and lambasts the government for the Rs 25,000 felicitation amount. The prize money was turned down by the Indian hockey team. 

The General secretary of  the hockey federation Narinder Batra said he accepted the amount was too little, but said his hands were tied as they had to operate within limits and with whatever budget they had at their disposal. He said Hockey India cannot afford more than this.

He blamed corporates for not coming forward to reward players.
