Staggering bill for helping foreigners in UK courts

Taxpayers have shelled out more than 25million on crown court translators in just six years, The Sun reports. The cost of providing interpreters for foreign criminals, witnesses and victims works out at 11,437 a day. So the total since 2005 could be as high as 100million. The most requested languages include Polish, Romanian, Urdu, Somali, Kurdish and Russian.
